Using Webmail

Tips, tricks and trivia about webmail:

1. You can create email accounts for others and (as we saw in the illustrated example above) they will be able to use their webmail withour having to login to the control panel. Each account owner will be able to modify his password and configure various settings such as forwarders and autorespondents.

2. If you use webmail to read your messages, they will be removed from the mail server and you will not be able to retreive them later using a mail client such as Outlook. Your messages, however, will be stored in the webmail system until you delete them.

3. To delete messages from webmail, you must first move them to the folder "neomail-trash" and then click the trashcan icon. Do delete messages periodically, the space they occupy counts against your account storage quote. If your account runs out of space, you will not be able to receive new mail.

4. If you are behind a firewall, port 2095 must be open. This is the port used by the webmail interface. Ask your network administrator to configure the firewall settings.
